Closed-Loop Manufacturing
e-VAC's Partnership with Cyclic Materials
e-VAC is proud to partner with Cyclic Materials, an advanced recycling company creating a circular supply chain for rare-earth elements (REEs) and other critical materials.
e-VAC and Cyclic have an exclusive agreement through 2035, which will ensure that 100 percent of the magnet production by-products are recycled.
Through our partnership with Cyclic, e-VAC is localizing the reliability and sustainability of eVAC’s production in Sumter, S.C.
- By continuing to leverage Cyclic Materials’ innovative recycling processes alongside our advanced magnet manufacturing, we are collectively ensuring a sustainable and high-purity feedstock for high-performance magnets to meet current and future industrial demand.
- And through our recovery of REEs from end-of-life products, Cyclic Materials will drastically reduce water usage and lower carbon emissions, keeping our footprint small while expanding our investments in this thriving community
Why Sustainability Matters
Efficient REM production is critical for e-VAC, and America’s national and economic security. The neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) rare earth magnets we produce are essential to defense, industrial, and robotics applications, and many other use cases.
- By recovering REEs from the by-products produced at the Sumter facility and reintegrating them into the supply chain, we can reduce waste and reliance on mining, thereby becoming more energy and cost-efficient.
- The extended agreement also includes the option to reintegrate recycled Mixed Rare Earth Oxides (rMREOs) from Cyclic Materials into its own production processes.
e-VAC’s partnership with Cyclic Materials has one, clear goal: To build a secure, local, and sustainable supply chain that will power all future U.S. defense, industrial, and technological needs.
